What Type of
Manager are You?

Why do some managers remain ahead of the curve, while others seem to simply tread water? What are the differences between those who excel and those who stall?

We've found that all multi-site managers experience similar challenges as they look to grow their managment skills, keep staffs motivated and productive, and properties at 100%. How then do some make the necessary
adjustments to stay on top, while others continue to struggle with the same issues over and over again?

The Leader's Edge includes a discussion of three primary facets of leadership and how a balance of each brings the greatest success to managers. After data has been collected on each manager, we'll explore their strengths and challenges in these areas:

Transactional Leadership
Transformational Leadership Behavior
Transformational Leadership Characteristics

Staying on top

It's about vision. It's about renewed energy. It's about personal growth with professional results. Learn the top ten attributes of today's leading multi-site managers. Understand the skills proven to drive success and hear just how the industry's most effective supervisors stay connected, productive and at the top of their game.

The Leader's Edge personal study and workshop not only provides the cutting edge tips and tools to be a high-performance manager, but acts as a personalized case study of your individual strengths and challenges
as a leader in your own organization. This finely-honed program includes clinically-based questionnaires designed to pinpoint a manager's strengths and areas of challenge. To assure the study is comprehensive,
data is systematically collected from the participant's own associates, including peers, site personnel and corporate supervisors, as well as the individuals, themselves.

While individual results remain confidential, group scores are used to incite thought and discussion. The results are phenomenal.

Transactional Leadership
1. How capable is the individual in getting daily tasks accomplished?
2. Does the manager make his/her expectations clear and deliver on promised rewards?

Transformational Leadership Behavior
3. How well does the individual manage and direct the focus of others?
4. Is the manager perceived as credible, and keep commitments and promises?
5. Does the leader demonstrate concern and respect for others?
6. Some say effective leaders take risks. Transformational leaders do not take undue risks, but create opportunities.

Transformational Leadership Characteristics
7. Is the leader confident?
8. Does the leader empower followers to actively achieve group goals?
9. Does the leader display an ability to understand the steps necessary to accomplish the overall vision?
10. Does the leader develop and support the values and beliefs of the group?

When People Matter,
and Results Count.

The Russ Sandlin Group is astute at determining the best paths to continued growth in leaders. The Leader's Edge program is two-fold. Data is gathered and assessed by Marshall Sashkin, PhD. in the profile segment of the workshop. While cost depends on the number of participants and observers, a typical package with twelve managers and six support individuals participating (or 84 evaluations) runs $750 or $8.93 per study. The second segment encompasses individual workbooks, and a full-day (six hours with breaks) workshop based on the results of the data. Russ Sandlin conducts this part of the program at a package price of $2,800. Additional individual consultation is also available as devised from program results. Hourly rates for consultation begin at $150.
